The summer transfer window continues to heat up with several high-profile names being linked to moves across Europe’s biggest clubs. From mega-money bids in the Premier League to contract standoffs and European scouting missions, here’s the latest from the rumor mill.

United Locked in Midfield Hunt

Manchester United are pressing ahead with their pursuit of Brighton’s 21-year-old midfielder Carlos Baleba, reports The Independent. United want the deal wrapped up before the window closes, but Brighton are demanding more than £100 million to part ways with the Cameroonian.

Should that price prove too steep, The Daily Telegraph claims the Red Devils will pivot to Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace, who is also attracting interest from Real Madrid. However, United are adamant they will not meet Brighton’s £100m valuation for Baleba.

Liverpool Concerned Over Konaté Future

Liverpool fear they could lose Ibrahima Konaté to Real Madrid as soon as next summer. According to Marca, there may already be an informal agreement between the French defender and Los Blancos. With his current deal expiring next year, the Reds are scrambling to offer him a new contract in the coming days.

If Konaté refuses to commit, Liverpool will consider selling him before the deadline — to avoid a repeat of the Trent Alexander-Arnold contract saga. Madrid are reportedly keeping a squad spot open in case the situation develops quickly.

City Add Monaco Star to Wishlist

Manchester City have set their sights on Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, according to Florian Plettenberg. The 23-year-old registered 19 goal contributions in 43 matches last season and is viewed as a potential alternative to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. City boss Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster his attacking depth, with Akliouche now on a growing shortlist.

Inter Move for Chelsea’s Nkunku

Inter Milan have initiated talks with Chelsea over Christopher Nkunku, Plettenberg also reports. The 27-year-old French forward is seen as an alternative to Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman. Nkunku could depart Stamford Bridge before the end of the window, but Inter face competition from Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.

Newcastle Target Porto’s Aghehowa

Newcastle United are preparing an offer for Samu Aghehowa of FC Porto, claims Football Insider. The 21-year-old Nigerian striker — who scored twice in Porto’s 3-0 win over Guimaraes earlier this week — is viewed as a possible replacement for Alexander Isak, who is unsettled after Liverpool’s failed bid. Porto value Aghehowa at around £80 million.
