Yasen Petrov fired by Shijiazhuang Yongchang

Today Shijiazhuang Yongchang parted ways with headcoach Yasen Petrov after dissapointing results in the Super League. The news came as somewhat of a shock to most people as no indications where given by the club. Li Jinyu will take his place for the remainder of the season.

The Bulgarian former midfield player took charge in Shijiazhuang in 2014. Before turning to the Chinese Super League Petrov was coaching Levski Sofia in his native country. After finishing 2nd in the 2010-2011 season Petrov was released as the teams headcoach, but remained active at the club.

In the season of 2014 ‘Gianini’ signed with Shijiazhuang and guided his new club to the highest Chinese level. After accomplishing the promotion in his first season Petrov and Shijiazhuang remained in the top tier until today.

Unfortunately after 5 straight losses in the Super League the club decided to let go of the former Bulgary international. Shijiazhuang are currently in forelast position leading Changchung Yatai by just 1 point.
