We have already witnessed some amazing moments and transfers from China these past years. But according to Turkish media outlet Vahdet the best, in fact Robin van Persie, is yet to come.
The former Arsenal and Manchester United star is unhappy with his current situation at Fenerbahçe and is headed for the exit. China could well be the only option for the Dutchman because no other clubs in Europe can afford the fee his Turkish employer is asking.
The source mentioned does not give us any names of Chinese Super League clubs that have approached van Persie. But earlier Italian media reported the Dutch forward has already come to an agreement with Shanghai Shenhua.
The Super League giants have a habit of signing great strikers. Before van Persie other former Premier League notables like Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka wore the Shenhua blue.
And currently former Chelsea star Demba Ba is the frontman for the Shanghai side and with great success. This Super League season the Senegal striker already scored 13 times, including two hattricks.
It could well be van Persie will be joining this party. At 32-years old the talented striker can still add attacking power to any side. In the English Premier League the Dutchman has an amazing record of 144 goals in 280 games and he has shown he can score anywhere.
With the draw of the Chinese Super League still growing in strength every day it seems this transfer could very well happen. The name of van Persie has been coming up in more and more headlines around the world, linking the topscorer to Shanghai Shenhua.
