Diego Tardelli set for return to Atletico

While the main focus right now is on Chinese clubs buying reinforcements, the transfer period also means other teams can look around in the Super League. In Brazil the Serie A is at a third of the season and teams are franticly looking for players to strengthen their ranks.

Shandong Luneng forward Diego Tardelli is one of those players who is being followed. The Brazilian national has received an offer from his former club Atletico Mineiro. The Serie A outfit are currently in 8th place and could use some attacking power.

Tardelli has been under contract with Atletico for two previous periods, from 2009-2011 and 2013-2014. The experience apparently has been a positive one as the Brazilian club have now made another offer for the 14-time international.

Shandong would have already accepted the offer and Tardelli is currently discussing his demands with Atletico. Luneng are eager to let the forward go in order to make space for more foreign players. Newly instated coach Felix Magath recently announced in an interview that the club will be focussing on buying players that can bolster their defence.

This is no surprise as Shandong is currently in last place with some heavy fixtures coming up. The team has not won any of it’s last 9 games and seem to be looking for a miracle. Felix Magath has been with the club for one game now and has his work cut out for him.
